Capital City Squares is a gay and lesbian square dancing club in Sacramento, California whose membership is open to any adult: gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, straight (we really don’t want to leave anyone out!) I started this group because I am a lesbian who enjoys being active in the community, and most of my friends didn't enjoy the same activities I enjoy: hiking, biking, rafting, jet skiing, throw together a flag football game in the park, etc. I also enjoy having a drink at an outside cafe, visiting, listening to music in the parks, and going to movies with friends. We're a group of parents who want to create a fun venue for other like minded parents in the LGBT community. This is a great community for families and will include meetups including outings at local parks, playgrounds, zoo's, kid friendly museums, etc. Suggestions are always welcomed as well!

Our primary goals for this Meetup group site is to create a space for gay cyclist in the Sacramento/N CA region to meet and ride together. We do rides of varying length and speed during the weekend, weeknights and occasionally weekdays. In addition to training rides, we may post century or other special event rides as well. If you don't see a ride posted that interests you, please suggest one. Let's get out and ride!

As a new mom, I was shocked how few gay people were involved in the local moms and parenting groups. Now that my son is a toddler, I am hoping to find other gay parents to get together with for child friendly activities, playgroups, etc. This group is open to families with two moms, two dads, and single gay parents.
